Musicians Chris Rippey and Christos Vayenas have been best friends and musical brothers since they met in Boulder over 20 years ago while attending college.

Over the course of their careers, they’ve supported each other in relentlessly pursuing the values of authenticity, creativity and spirituality through music—probing not only deep within themselves and their crafts, but searching the world over for artists that embody the same timeless truths through their music.

20 years in the making, Autumn Salon Records is the culminating vehicle through which they aspire to share their findings, presenting their own original music, as well as a global network of artists they’ve worked with throughout the years.

ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE APPLIED TOWARDS THE VINYL PRINTING OF TWO DEBUT ALBUMS:

  • CORRESPONDENCES - A compilation featuring different Autumn Salon artists from around the world.

  • MATER DOLOROSA - A solo album by Chris Rippey featuring Chinese Xiao and Guqin, two of the most ancient instruments in the world, expressed in a new light.

DONORS GIFTING $50 OR MORE WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF CORRESPONDENCES UPON RELEASE

CHRISTOS VAYENAS

Christos Vayenas is a pianist, composer, author and curator. He is the founder of the Autumn Salon, an online journal, film production house and events organization that raises awareness around artists who, through connecting the traditional wisdom of the past with the living energy of the present, are contributing to a global culture of the future.

With a focus on solo improvisation, Christos’ musical language draws inspiration from the Romantic and Symbolist eras of the past, as well as a wide range of musical traditions of the world. He perceives music as a harmonizing force that can evoke powerful experiences of authenticity, emotion, and mysticism.

Chris Rippey

Chris Rippey is a multi-instrumentalist and composer always seeking to improve his craft and better understand how to help people use music to improve their lives. He believes that anyone, regardless of age, experience, or physical ability is capable of making beautiful music. His focus is on studying the inter-relatedness of music from around the world - how music is the one truly universal language - and drawing upon that process to create new works which grow from diverse roots.

To this end Chris has studied classical music; put years into Scottish and Irish bagpipes, flutes and whistles; played guitar and bass in jazz and jam bands; learned Balinese music and instruments; delved deeply into American blues, mountain and traditional styles of guitar and banjo; and also has worked closely with Scandinavian, African, and Chinese music traditions.
